X Factor!

Hi all, just a quick note to tell those of you who don't know, that I've been working on X Factor again this year, I have recorded the Backing Vocals to lots of the songs that are performed on the Live shows, the contestants then sing live to the track and usually somebody will be miming my parts!  I seem to have the Kiss of Death though as everyone I've worked on has been voted off so far! The latest being Janet, though it was her own fault as she messed up the words to Mmm Bop pretty badly...it's a tougher song than you think!  Not sure who I'll be doing this week as it's getting near the end of the show now, but it's been fun singing lots of different songs so keep your ears open and have a listen...!

Yuki performing 'One of These Days' (Onaji Te)

I came across the above video on YouTube of Yuki performing her version of my song 'One of These Days'  She has done a Japanese Translation called 'Onaji Te' and I think she sings it quite beautifully!  She is a big star in Japan and held in quite high esteem, similar to Bjork in Europe and the UK, and is known for her quirky style and dress sense!

A Little Update!

 Hi Friends,

Hope you are all keeping well. Just wanted to drop in and catch up.

I’ve just moved house and have almost settled in. We have lots of room now and a permanent recording space so fingers crossed I can get Album number 2 finished ASAP.  I have been writing lots and have lots to get down but I’m happy with the direction. I will do a few more videos of my new Songs really soon and you can give me some feedback!

Busy as ever keeping up with my little one. He’s 15 months old now and into everything.  In fact the laptop I am writing this with currently has no space bar…little fingers can cause mayhem!

I have been recording some cool trance tracks with a talented writer friend of mine and it’s a really fun project to be involved in…as soon as I can tell you more …I shall!

I am doing an original gig at a venue in Winsford in October, and also will be playing a few of my own songs at The Ferry Tavern in September so anyone who’d like to hear me play my songs live...check the dates section.

I’m also doing a showcase for YAMAHA at Acoustic Avalon at the end of October. I use their lovely guitars so I’m going to show them which songs I’ve written with them!

I had a really busy time at the Mathew Street Festival in Liverpool…thanks to everyone that came out to hear me sing…you were a great audience!

I’m really chuffed that my song ‘Bringing it Home’ is on the Album of Japanese Artist ’Miku Kakoi’.  She has done a beautiful job...love her voice, check her out if you can!

Also, just really wanted to say that any support and encouragement received is so greatly appreciated.

Love

T

April 2011

 Hi!

Just realised it's been nearly a year since my last post....and I promised to try harder and post more often as well!!

Well a lot has happened in a year, firstly I had my baby...he is amazing!  It seems such a long time ago and also feels like just yesterday!

I've been working harder than ever since having him, I thought parenthood would mean I slowed down but I haven't stopped, and more and more work seems to be coming my way.  Before Christmas I worked a lot on X Factor, recording BV's for the tracks they use on the show, I ended up doing around 12 tracks, some of them are on my 'Session Vocals' page.  It was fun to do and great to be able to work from home in our own Studio rather than travelling and being away.  We sent the finished files over the Internet and the next day they would be on the show....isn't technology brilliant?!?

I'm still busy writing and recording new songs, the fruits of which will be available this year either in the form of an EP or Album....though I do have enough songs to release 2 Albums, it's hard to get them all recorded.

There are videos of some new songs up on my YouTube page so please feel free to have a peek!

Well apologies once again for the length of time in writing new posts on my site...I WILL DO BETTER!!

Don't forget you can keep up with me on various Networking Sites, the links are on my 'Contact' page and i'm a lot more active on Facebook and Twitter than on here!

Got another busy weekend ahead of gigging in Liverpool (it's Grand National week here and always very busy) and I have some more vocals to do on a brilliant trance project I'm working on...hopefully will have some more news on that soon...it's all very exciting!

Bye for now.

Number One in Japan...and other stuff!

Hi there gorgeous ones, long time no speak / tweet / status update / blog / vlog etc etc etc...!

So sorry for my absence on the scene and in the world of social networks…I really wanted to make a personal message directly to those of you that leave me kind words of support and encouragement and tirelessly continue to support me and my music career.

So, here is a summary of all things Tricia!

Firstly, my big news! I had a breakthrough with a little song I wrote a while ago with a friend of mine called Jez Ashurst, from a band called Farrah. He works a lot in Japan and has a fantastic A & R woman who relentlessly pushes his work into the right hands. So, as a result, this song has found it’s way onto the Album of a respectable and talented female artist called Yuki Isoya. I’m so thrilled with this as she is quite a big deal in Japan and she shifts a fair few CD’s, in fact her album reached Number 1 and went Gold in Japan in it's first week of release!! It's currently still in the Top Ten and edging towards Platinum status!

I feel I am creeping towards my dream job title of 'Songwriter' slowly but surely.  Here is the link to the song that has now been translated into Japanese by Yuki, if you scroll down you can listen to a clip, it's track 12, called 'Onaji Te'

As most of you know, I earn my living as a singer. I perform several times every week at weddings/parties/bars etc...sometimes on my own, sometimes with my husband and sometimes with the really great function band Metropolis. FYI here is their link...I am singing on mix 1, 2 and 3 on the media page.

This takes me all over the country and back and forward to Jersey in the Channel Islands where I have gigged a lot in the past year. I love being able to sing for my supper thus avoiding the harsh realities of getting a ‘proper’ job. So I am fully appreciative of any way I can use my voice to pay my bills!

I also decided to record a few of the songs I have performed live a few times and have been well received so there are the some clips of those on the music player here on my website and my MySpace page (please don't neglect MySpace by the way, I know I have been quiet on there lately, but it really is a great place to support bands and unsigned artists!)

In between all this I've done some backing vocal work on a couple of Fab Albums.

'Great Things' by Ian McNabb

'Living Past' by Mark Lassiter

Both well worth a listen / purchase if you get the chance!

What else? I put a visual aid together for another older song of mine called Footballers Wife. Anyone who knows me knows I like to write in different styles and have a real soft spot for 'Chav Pop'!! i.e.: Champagne Shirley, which I wrote for the Dolly Rockers. Incidentally, not sure whether that’ll be on their album as they moved labels and are now gathering other material too but we’ll see…there are some cool clips of them singing it on you tube so maybe if you bombard them and tell them what an ace track it is it wont get excluded from the track listing!!! Nudge nudge, wink wink!

Here is the link for Footballers Wife for anyone that hasn’t seen/heard it

And last but certainly not least…is perhaps my BIGGEST news...the impending arrival of my Baby Boy in May.

I am so excited to become a Mummy. I have really enjoyed being pregnant and eating lots of things that are normally off limits! But now I am tuning into the last few weeks and ready to welcome him into our crazy world!

I can’t believe my future is to be filled with Dinosaurs and Diggers and Monsters and Robots!! Oh my!

I have signed up to take part in a half marathon in September so I’ll let you know more nearer the time about the details but I’d really love to have your support and any donations you can make to the charity I've chosen which is The Downs Syndrome Association, I'm doing it with my friend and photographer Kerry Spicer and we've set up a fundraising page at

uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/macspice

It will be my biggest challenge to date (after childbirth!)

I think that’s all for now. My life is changing so drastically at the minute. I have been decorating a baby room and shopping for prams and whilst I am thoroughly enjoying this phase in my life I really miss playing my songs live in front of you lovely people. I hope to make time to fit that in at some point. I miss you lot muchly and value your ongoing support and enthusiasm immensely.

Hope to see you soon and hear about all your goings on.

Take care

Tricia and Bump! xxx
